The Interview

The interview can be a stressful time for some, but it need not be. It is simply two parties sitting down to get to know each other and determine if there is a mutual fit of the applicant to the employer and vice versa. To help you prepare, we've come up with some suggestions you may find helpful.

  1. Be on time - in fact, be 10 minutes early. Plan appropriately for construction, accidents, rush hour, etc. NEVER be late.
  2. Be relaxed - we really aren't that scary.
  3. Do your research about IMPACT Group.
  4. Dress professionally. Business-dress is the safest way to go.
  5. Bring extra copies of your resume, just in case.
  6. Don't answer questions with one word answers. That doesn't allow us to "get to know you." On the other hand, don't answer questions with 15-minute dissertations, either. Answer each question fully, bringing in appropriate examples, and don't let your response wander. LET US KNOW WHY WE SHOULD HIRE YOU!
  7. Speak clearly and distinctly.
  8. Come prepared with good questions… and don't forget to ask them.
  9. Be sure and thank the interviewer for his or her time.
  10. Follow up with the interviewer with a thank you note or e-mail. Remind us why we should offer you a position.
